Our Mission
Many of us over the years have enjoyed being part of sports teams and competition. When we were young, the opportunity to play sport and be a part of a team that had a common goal was something that deeply impacted us. In thinking about the coaches that I had and the teams I played on, I realize today how instrumental they were in shaping who I have become.
This had a great part to do with Elevate Sports being created. Our Mission is to use athletics to impact others for Christ through relationship and skill development. We believe that everyone deserves to be loved and shown that they are important. Although we are all different and have different talents, we can all be confident in who we are and be pushed to be the best we can be.
Our Vision is to develop athletes to use their gifts for Christ and others. When we have a bigger purpose than self, like care for others, teammates and for a God that created us, we believe we can do amazing things through sport. It is through this that Elevate Sports Organization finds its purpose and goal. We want to see athletes raise their game in growing their skills and abilities, but also raise it from their view of themselves and to see the bigger picture of how sports can impact those around them.

Our Team
Kevin Peters - Executive Director
Kevin has been a coach for over two decades and loves using sport to encourage and train up youth. As a High Performance Coach with the National Coaching Certification Program, Kevin has had the opportunity to coach thousands of athletes at the college, provincial and club level. Kevin is a farm boy from Canada, who is married to his lovely wife Darcie and together are raising their four boys.
As the Director of Elevate, his hope is that hundreds of thousands of children, youth and adults will be transformed by the sport they love. As a young child he was impacted deeply by his coaches instilling hard work, positive attitude and a desire for teams to work together. As he got older, he came to realize that playing the sport he loved was far more than just the satisfaction of competition and championships, but playing for the Creator that made him.
Tayler Janz - Program Coordinator
Tayler grew up most of her life in Alberta, then came to Saskatchewan after graduating high school to go to college and has never left. She has had opportunities to play volleyball, soccer and basketball in the PAC league, followed by two years playing basketball at the ACAC level at Briercrest College and Seminary.
From a young age, Tayler has been drawn to the excitement and achievement of pursuing sports. She has been able to use her playing experience in coaching roles with club and school teams. Through being heavily involved in sports, Tayler has witnessed how it can provide athletes with tools that go beyond the court or field. She desires to give athletes an environment that allows them to learn and grow as athletes and as people, as they learn how to compete in a way that is enjoyable and brings glory to God.
Cody Hickle - Coach
Cody grew up in a small farming community in Central Alberta. As with many others in his town, sports was a part of Cody’s life from an early age as he developed a passion for sports in general but specifically basketball all through his junior high and high school years. Alongside basketball, Cody also enjoyed outdoor sports like hunting and fishing. These passions grew as he attended Millar College of the Bible and were evident to those who know him. Cody demonstrates a commitment to his training and his focus on doing his best. Cody, together with his wife Emily (pictured) and two kids, live in South West Saskatchewan. They are excited for the opportunity to use the knowledge and skills that have been developed over the past few years to inspire youth to pursue their dreams, whether it be through sport or enjoying the love of the outdoors in nature.
Missy McComish - Coach
Growing up in Shaunavon, SK, Missy always enjoyed the team aspect of sport. It provided a place to learn about herself and connect with others. Missy has coached in the sports of basketball and volleyball in many different capacities for the last 20 years. Whether it has been at camps, one-on-one, or at the college level, she loves to see youth develop their confidence and their abilities in an environment that provides challenges and unpredictable opportunities for growth, with the freedom to make mistakes and learn from them. She loves being a part of providing this environment for ahtletes through her role with Elevate.
Stephen McComish - Coach
Stephen grew up near Stettler, AB. He and his two brothers spent many hours together growing up playing all kinds of sports. He has coached basketball and volleyball for the past 20 years, and whether it has been working with athletes one-on-one or as part of leading a high school team, Stephen loves the opportunity to push an athlete to grow in their sport and reach their highest potential. As a teacher, he loves to coach because it gives him an opportunity to connect with youth at a different level than a classroom provides.
Stephen also loves to watch sports in his spare time - specifically whichever sport "his" team is doing best in at that moment. He likes the Jays, the Raptors, the Vikings, and the Flames. Stephen is a full-time teacher, as well as being involved with Elevate.
Mike Callaway - Coach
Mike grew up in Alberta and sports were always a huge part of his life. Growing up with three brothers, a pick-up game of some sort was nearly always running. As he grew in his love for sport and his love for Christ, his passion grew to see others experience the gift of serving the Lord through sports. After attending Millar College of the Bible, he had the opportunity to work as the athletic director for a Christian high school in Alberta, and now has returned to work for Millar College of the Bible in their Athletics Department.
Mike has coached for the last 9 years in volleyball and basketball at the junior high, high school and college levels. He also has had opportunities to run camps locally in Canada, as well as in Spain. His passions have led him to be a part of Elevate in a variety of ways, as he desires to see athletes encounter Christ through Elevate and the opportunities that accompany the ministry.
